I was employed by Abertay University to work on this project as a UI/UX designer. I worked independently on this project developing an interactive prototype for a mobile application. This project aimed to create a tool for young persons to upload evidence of skills gained during their education. This concept was established in order to encourage young people to participate in skills development and think about potential careers.
Target Audience Research
It was crucial to gain an understanding of the target audience's requirements in order to design outputs which would meet their needs. This flow chart was created by recognising this age group's behavioural insights and how the application design could fulfil these requirements and appeal the the audience.
Application Navigation
The user flow chart allows each key stage to be mapped out. It provides an understanding of the key interactions which the user will navigate through so they can reach the final outcome. This basic user flow chart was created in order to better understand the flow of the application.
Icon Design
Icons have been created using Adobe Illustrator. A thin outline style has been used as the approach of the interface icons. Interaction is communicated by the icon filling with the secondary colour. The icons will also reflect the colour scheme.
Application Medium Fidelity Wireframes
Application Illustrations
Application High Fidelity Wireframe
This wireframe allowed the examination of the navigation by exploring ways how the user could reach each destination before creating the interactive prototype. The wireframe also provided a clear overview which shows that the design is consistent through each stage.
App Interactions
App interaction videos were created to demonstrate the navigation of the app and provide insight into the design consistency.
